He then obtained a research fellow post at the Royal London and St Bartholomew Hospital. He has worked in private practice at Springfield Hospital since 2003 as a general surgeon with a specialist expertise in surgery of the upper gastro-intestinal tract (oesophagus, stomach and duodenum) and laproscopic (keyhole) surgery.
