Mr Kadirkamanathan qualified from medical school in 1984. During his undergraduate training he obtained first class in the second MBBS and second upper class in the final MBBS examination. He was also awarded gold medals for anatomy,obstetrics and gynaecology. His surgical training as a registrar was taken in Liverpool from 1989-1992. He then obtained a research fellow post at the Royal London and St Bartholomew Hospital.
