Mr Dover is a Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at The Westbourne Centre.

He has over 20 years experience in oral implantology (dental implants) and examines, lectures and publishes both nationally and internationally on the subject. He routinely performs the bone and soft tissue grafting procedures that are often required to produce the best possible functional and aesthetic outcomes in implant dentistry.

Stephen was one of the first two Fellows elected to the International Team for Oral Implantology in the UK. He works closely with colleagues to provide a treatment plan individually tailored to each patient’s needs.

Stephen Dover qualified in dentistry from the University of Birmingham in 1980. He then undertook further hospital training in Liverpool and London, passing his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeon (England) in 1984. After a year working overseas he returned to Birmingham and qualified in medicine in 1989. He completed a general surgery rotation and passed his FRCS in 1992. Stephen then specialised in oral and maxillofacial surgery and following cleft and craniofacial fellowships was appointed as a consultant to both the Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham Children’s Hospitals in 1996. He continues to work in both of these centres where he specialises in the management of complex paediatric and adult facial deformity.
