Having graduated in Cairo in 1991, Mr Sherief completed a further 8 years at Ain Shams University in Cairo where the main focus was on spinal surgery and he finished a doctorate thesis on spinal deformities in 2000. He continued to develop further experience in all aspects in orthopaedics in the UK since 2002. Mr Sherief has completed two advanced training fellowships at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and at the Royal Derby Hospital for 30 months. Through years of experience he has developed wide expertise in modern techniques in spinal surgery including microdiscectomies, non destabilising spinal decompression, spinal fusion using interbody cages and pedicle screws for spinal instability and for back pain if indicated. Mr Sherief's skills include the performance of mini access surgery (balloon kyphoplasty) and spinal fixation for fractures.Mr Sherief has given a number of international presentations and publications in the field of spinal surgery and in general trauma and orthopaedics including to the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) 2013 and to The Eurospine 2013.
