Academic Background

Mr Adams’ Medical School training was at Bristol University, having also acquired an intercalated degree in Anatomical Sciences. Following a year as a junior doctor, he taught Anatomy at Oxford University and then spent 3 years as a basic surgical trainee in the region and in Norwich. With aWellcome Trust and British Association of Plastic Surgeons grant, he performed laboratory-based wound healing research at the Phoenix Tissue Repair Unit, at UCH, London in 1994. As the Duke of Kent Research Fellow, he spent 2 years in full-time research investigating the effects of TopicalNegative Pressure Therapy (VAC) on burn wounds at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and London UCH,gaining his MD Thesis in 2005.
