Mr Trystan Lewis specialises in using laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to treat conditions of the stomach, gallbladder and abdominal wall.
As an Upper Gastro-intestinal surgeon, Mr. Lewis provides laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gallstone disease; anti-reflux surgery for heartburn/reflux; and other motility disorders laparoscopic hernia repair and has a particular interest in complex hernia of the abdominal wall from previous surgery (incisional hernia).
Mr. Lewis also provides surgical treatment for general surgical conditions such as pilonidal sinus, lumps and bumps and all emergency general surgery conditions, such as appendectomy.

Mr. Lewis qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2005, before completing his surgical training in North and South West London, working at many of the prestigious central London teaching Hospitals. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017.
During his training, Mr. Lewis took 3 years out to complete a PhD in Surgical Innovation and Technical Skills at the world renowned Department of Cancer and Surgery at Imperial College.
He has subsequently published his work extensively in peer- reviewed scientific journals, and had been invited to present his research throughout Europe and North America.
In his current NHS consultant position, Mr. Lewis is the clinical lead of the Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit, where he is passionate about same day surgical care, so that the stress of surgery has a minimal impact on individual patients day to day life.
