Mrs Thakur has over 20 years' experience in Ophthalmology. She is a very experienced cataract surgeon performing over 2000 cataract surgery with minimal complication rates.

Her sub-specialty interest is Medical retina which includes treatment and management of age related macular degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Vascular diseases.

She is actively involved in Diabetic Screening Program.

She has worked at the University Hospital Cambridge, Worcester Royal Hospital and Royal United Hospital Bath as a locum Consultant before taking this post in Salisbury.

Mrs Thakur is instrumental in developing the Ophthalmology service at New Hall and within her local trust, with a keen interest in utilising the latest technology.
