Ms Isabel Teo is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon working in Reading at The Berkshire Independent Hospital.

Her interests include all aspects of breast surgery, skin cancer excision and reconstruction, lumps and bumps (skin tags, fatty lumps, scar revision), and hand surgery including carpal tunnel.
Along the patients she treats in the private sector, she is a substantive consultant plastic surgeon within the NHS at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She sits on the multidisciplinary panel for both breast surgery and skin cancer.

Training
Ms Teo successfully obtained her medical degree from the University of Edinburgh with final year distinctions, and has trained in different units around the UK. She subsequently undertook a masters degree in surgical sciences, and graduated with distinctions as well.
Towards the end of her specialist training, Ms Teo was awarded a highly prestigious and competitive Advanced Training Fellowship in cosmetic surgery, the highest recognised training programme in cosmetic surgery in the UK. She went on to pursue year long fellowships in Hand surgery (TIG fellowship, Oxford) and breast microsurgery (Chelmsford, UK), before taking up a consultant position in Oxford where she currently works, offering her care to breast reconstruction patients, trauma patients and skin cancer patients. She is fully registered with the General Medical Council, and is on the specialist register for plastic surgery.
Research
Ms Teo has been very active with research. She has delivered more than 40 national and international presentations, and published extensively in peer reviewed journals. She passed her plastic surgery exams at her first attempt and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. She subsequently elected to sit for, and pass the British Hand Diploma, widely considered the gold standard qualification for Hand surgeons in the United Kingdom.
She is passionate about teaching and has written 4 textbook chapters. She teaches medical students, junior doctors and allied health care professionals, with her most notable invited lecture delivered to more than 3000 participants on breast reconstruction at the Samsing Workshop in Breast Cancer.
Trials
She was the Associate Principal Investigator for the Randomised Controlled Trial NEON at Oxford in 2021 (analysing outcomes of finger digital nerve injuries), and is currently the Principal Investigator for the RCT Flare in Oxford (analysing tendon injuries in the finger).
