Honorary Senior Lecturer - University of Manchester & University of Central Lancashire Prof Raut is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Arthroscopic Knee Surgery and Reconstructive (Primary and Revision) Surgery of the Hip and Knee. Prof Raut trained at Oswestry and Birmingham and gained valuable experience through a 3-year fellowship in Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Wrightington Hospital under the guidance of Prof. B.M. Wroblewski. He also trained further in Canada under Prof. Alan Gross and went on a travelling fellowship to the Mayo Clinis Canada and Massachusetts General Hospital, USA. Prof Raut has published extensively in International journals with more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is invited regularly to lecture at various International conferences all over the World and his papers are quoted very often at meetings. He is on the Faculty for the M.Ch.Orth course at Dundee as well as Wrightington Hospital. His interests include arthroscopic knee surgery and early arthritis and knee cap surgery. He specialises in joint replacement surgery and is one of the few surgeons in the country who has had his outcomes of hip and knee replacement assessed independently at a follow up of around 10 years.
