Angioma

Angioma at Duchy Hospital

What is Angioma?

An angioma is a type of benign tumour made up of blood vessels. They are more likely to occur as a person ages, however they can come about at any age and anywhere on the body. They will usually appear quite close to the surface of the skin and are generally not painful, however to prevent any further problems, it is often recommended that they be removed.

At The Westbourne Centre, you could be ‘in and out’ of our state-of-the-art theatre to have your angioma removed under a local anaesthetic with or without sedation. The procedure is quick and easy and you do not need to worry about a long recovery time or overnight stay in hospital.

We would recommend a consultation with one of our consultant dermatologists, who will be able to perform all of the necessary testing during your initial appointment and provide you with an on-the-spot diagnosis and treatment plan.
