Thanks to Patient Choice, patients in England now have the option to attend Duchy Hospital, and indeed, other Ramsay Healthcare facilities for NHS treatment.
Patient Choice is a government initiative introduced to give NHS patients more choice about where, when and what time they are treated. NHS patients in England who require hospital treatment can now choose any participating hospital in the country that can meet their needs. One of your options could be a Ramsay Health Care hospital or treatment centre.
In line with the NHS Constitution we aim to treat all patients within a maximum of 18 weeks of receiving your referral letter from your GP General Practitioner. Unfortunately, in some cases the COVID pandemic has caused delays in treatment, but we are working hard to return things to normal and treat patients as soon as possible.
Any patients choosing to have their NHS treatment at a Ramsay hospital will benefit from the following benefits:
Ask your GP if you could choose to have your treatment at Duchy Hospital or contact us for more information.
The Medicines Formulary has been designed as a tool to assist in promoting safe, cost-effective prescribing within the NHS. The aim is that the Formulary will cover 80-90% of prescribing within the Health Community although we recognise that there will be instances where prescribing outside of the formulary will be both necessary and appropriate.
You can see the local Medicines Formulary here.
The NHS is undergoing continuous reform in its structure, its governance and how it relates to other sectors. The patient access policy has been developed to ensure that you are aware of your rights and responsibilities.
