Patient Choice is a government initiative introduced to give NHS patients more choice about where, when and what time they are treated. NHS patients should receive treatment within 18 weeks from GP referral.
Local NHS Commissioners decide which NHS services should be offered at Oaklands Hospital so it may be that the treatment you require is included.
If you wish to have your treatment quicker than 18 weeks, you may wish to consider continuing your treatment as a private patient rather than remaining as an NHS patient.
If you would like to be refered to Oaklands Hospital please contact your GP who will be able to refer you to us. Once you receive your booking reference number, please log on to the NHS e-referral system.
In line with the NHS Constitution we aim to treat all patients within a maximum of 18 weeks of receiving your referral letter from your GP General Practitioner. Unfortunately, in some cases the COVID pandemic has caused delays in treatment, but we are working hard to return things to normal and treat patients as soon as possible.
