Mr Kincaid performs over 200 total joint replacements per year. Arthroscopic surgery (over 100 cases per year) includes: debridement, meniscal repair, articular cartilage transfer and cruciate reconstruction.

His knee surgery practice is augmented by Patient-Specific Instrumentation which may enable more rapid recovery and rehabilitation.

His main elective interest is primary and revision total knee replacement and complex primary knee replacement for trauma. He is trained in Robotic knee surgery and Kinematic Alignment techniques. He also carries out primary hip replacement, knee arthroscopy and osteotomy around the knee.

He is currently the knee lead at Royal Cornwall Hospital. He is an educational supervisor to current trainees, and is a qualified Mediator (Mediation UK).

He has previously been clinical/speciality director in the department for 7 years and he has spent 18 months of his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Lately he has been using Kinematic Alignment techniques for primary knee surgery and has introduced nStride to Cornwall – this is a stem cell treatment for mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis.

Mr Kincaid graduated from Edinburgh University in 1991 and undertook his basic surgical training within Edinburgh and also the West of Scotland. Following this in 1996 he began his formal orthopaedic training, which culminated in his speciality (Consultant) exams in Edinburgh 2001.

He spent 14 months in Canada in the Orthopaedic and Arthritic Institute, Toronto, carrying out a fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty (knee and hip replacements) and knee ligament surgery including sports medicine.

He came to Cornwall at the end of 2002. He has been a Consultant with an interest in lower limb (knees and hips) since that time.

He has had practicing privileges at the Duchy hospital since 2003.

He has maintained his general trauma practice throughout the whole of his consultant career.

His trauma speciality includes fractures around the knee and complex distal femoral fixation and replacement.
