Mr Shaun Sexton is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Truro, Cornwall who specialises in hip and knee surgery
Consultant Orthopaedic consultant with a special interest in hip and knee surgery.
Mr Sexton specialises in hip and knee replacement surgery as well as trauma and sports injuries to the hip and knee. He performs 250 hip and knee replacements a year. He receives referrals from surgeons when hip replacements fail and require revision and has particular experience in revision surgery related to different artificial bearing surfaces.
Mr Sexton uses the latest techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery including partial knee replacements, robotic surgery, and patient specific instrumentation. Care over implant selection and bearing surface is particularly important and he believes this accounts for his hip and knee replacement patient satisfaction being substantially higher than the average for surgeons in the UK,

During this time he was able to gain highly specialised experience in the latest techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery including robotic surgery, partial knee replacement and patient specific instruments.
He published and presented worldwide on these techniques as well as on the optimum materials used in replacement surgery.
He is an active researcher particularly into improving results following joint replacement surgery.
