Dr Javed Mohungoo also has experience in Hair and Scalp disorders which has led him to write a chapter on female pattern hair loss and has been involved into research projects - finding new mutations in patients with hair disorders. He is also the National Clinical Lead for Dermatology at VirginCare Dermatology and a Consultant Dermatologist. Within this role he was instrumental in building secondary care services within the community and introducing new technology. He set up a new Teledermatology Service in Northern Lincolnshire for which he won A Striving for Better Award for Innovation. He was also nationally recognised and was Finalist at the British Medical Journal Award for Dermatology Team of the Year in 2019. Within Virgincare he is the Lead for Skin Cancer MDT, Clinical Governance, Medicine Management and Deputy Caldicott Guardian. He was previously a Consultant and Clinical Lead at Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Hospitals. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Tutor with the Hull Medical School. Dr Mohungoo was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician in 2019 in recognition of outstanding service. He is involved in education and research including being a principal Investigator in a study of patients on Biologics in psoriasis.
