Dr Naik is an NHS Consultant in Hepatology and Gastroenterology specialising in investigating and treating patients with primary liver disease. Dr Naik deals with a range of liver conditions including abnormal liver tests, autoimmune liver disease, alcohol related liver disease, non-alcohol fatty liver disease and decompensated cirrhosis. He has worked at the Liver Transplant Unit at Addenbrookes and has extensive links with their liver specialist unit and their multidisciplinary meetings. Dr Naik's area of interest is alcohol related liver disease, and he works closely in health promotion with alcohol recovery services in the Chelmsford area. Other than liver disease, Dr Naik investigates and manages general gastroenterology conditions including Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, IBS, Gall Bladder issues, Reflux, Barretts oesophagus and diagnosis of Gall stones. To aid this, he is fully certified in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy with over 1600 lifetime colonoscopies and over 3000 gastroscopy procedures. Dr Naik also investigates patients with possible pancreatic or hepatobiliary cancers, and he is the hepatobiliary cancer lead at Broomfield hospital (Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust).
