Dr Raju's practice comprises a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions and he specialises particularly in the management of ischaemic heart disease (angina and the prevention of heart attacks), percutaneous coronary intervention (routine and complex coronary angioplasty and stenting), and investigation of cardiac causes of stroke, hypertension, valvular heart disease and treatment of heart failure. He also takes particular interest in the investigation of palpitations, dizzy spells, blackouts, chest pain and breathlessness. Dr Prashanth Raju is an experienced consultant intervention cardiologist at Kettering General Hospital. He has been involved in innovative service developments and was one of the first in the country to use the pioneering shockwave lithotripsy heart procedure in treating complex calcified coronary disease. In recognition of his services, he has been presented with the Clinical Excellence Awards by the Kettering NHS Trust. He has been featured in national ITV and BBC Radio Northampton interviews for these new innovative approaches in treating heart conditions. His work also appeared in Northamptonshire Telegraph Newspaper. The Dailymail published an article about one of Dr Raju's patient's experience in the column titled “Me and My operation”. Education & Training: He obtained his postgraduate qualification from Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), London in 2006. He is dual accredited in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology. His specialist postgraduate training in cardiology was undertaken at Grantham, Derby, Glenfield and Lincoln Hospitals.
