Mr Ertemi is now the clinical lead at Basildon and the governance lead for urology across mid and south Essex.
Outside his clinical work Mr Ertemi also devotes time to be an educational and clinical supervisor for junior doctors, while also working as an honorary clinic lecturer at UCL.
Mr Ertemi was awarded a doctor of medicine (MD) degree by University College Hospital in 2013 for his research on erectile dysfunction. His work and results have since been published in top journals of the field and presented in various prestigious international meetings. He undertook specialist urology training in North East London, including centres of excellence such as Barts Hospital and Royal free Hospital, passing his FRCS urology exam in 2014. He was awarded his specialist training certificate by the GMC in 2015, after which he was appointed as a Urology consultant at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital. Mr Ertemi's general urology clinic covers all aspects of common urology problems including conditions like blood in the urine, blood in the semen, difficulty passing urine, recurrent urinary tract infection, kidney stones, tight foreskin and scrotal swelling.
